This workshop for staff looks at the rapidly changing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in literature searching.

We are aware of the ethical and environmental impacts, so there is a focus on critical thinking and evaluating your usage of AI for yourself. 

Session overview:

  • An introduction to how AI tools are being used in literature searching.
  • Exploring the benefits and risks of using AI tools in your literature searching.
  • Introducing the Birmingham University Self-Evaluation Framework for AI tools
  • Practical demonstration of the Framework using real-world examples
  • Time for discussion and questions.

This session will take place online using Microsoft Teams. You will be sent a joining link on registration and you will receive a reminder email the day before.
