Learning & Teaching ENssentials: Active Learning, in the Active Learning Suite In-Person
Dear colleagues,
You are invited to this in-person ENssentials session on Active Learning, where we hope you will join us in the new Active Learning Suite in room 1/07 at Craiglockhart. The aim of this workshop is to showcase the new active learning Suite, one of our newest teaching spaces, which has been designed to accommodate student interaction and collaboration.
This will provide colleagues with an opportunity to experience the room and its capabilities for facilitating active learning.
Colleagues can learn ways to use active learning environments to build stronger student connections through collaborative activities, experiencing and exploring practical ways to further incorporate active learning techniques into teaching.
Colleagues will be able to:
- Use the available technologies (e.g., interactive whiteboards, collaborative software) to consider solutions for teaching challenges in active learning spaces.
- To develop skills and knowledge to effectively utilize the new active learning classroom.
- Discuss strategies that enhance student engagement in the active learning space.
We also have a new interactive guide to Active Learning and use of Active Learning Spaces, thanks to David in Information Services. This gives a good rundown of how to use the technology in 1/07, and different approaches to active learning with and without technology.
We hope you will join us at Craiglockhart. If you need any support to participate, please contact DLTE@napier.ac.uk.
