War Poets Collection - Tour In-Person
Visit our fascinating War Poets Collection at Craiglockhart campus.
The collection includes first editions of poetry and biographies, letters, photos and memorabilia which give a real feeling of the history of Craiglockhart and the realities of the First World War.
During the war, Craiglockhart was used as a military hospital and war poets Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon met here while being treated for shell shock. Owen wrote some of his most famous poems during this time, including drafts of 'Dulce et Decorum est' and 'Anthem for Doomed Youth'.
Curator Catherine Walker will give a short talk and show you some of the highlights of the collection.
Location: The War Poets Collection is located in the corridor between the Starbucks and the Hydra Cafe, next door to the Rivers Suite.
